💌 You Are Not Alone
A Message from Kayla
Hey love,
Before we go any further, I want you to know this:
You are not alone.
Not in your body journey.
Not in your mirror battles.
Not in the days where you love yourself…
and the ones where you don’t.
I’ve gained weight. I’ve lost it. I’ve been grateful, frustrated, confident, and unsure all at the same time. But deep down, I always knew this body was doing her best to carry me through life.
Growing up, I was taller than most girls but people made me feel like a giant. I’ve always had thick thighs, a full head of hair, and body hair that had everyone making comments. I used to get made fun of for my “thunder thighs.”
Now? I see the power in all of it.
My full brows, my curves, my hair they’re not flaws.
They’re features. They’re mine.
They’re sacred.
But loving myself didn’t happen overnight. For a long time, I shrank myself not physically, but spiritually.
I wore all black. Baggy clothes. Hid in plain sight. I let other people’s opinions shape how I showed up.
Until one day, I saw a girl at a roller skating rink… in a full ball gown.
She didn’t care what anyone thought. She was glowing.
And I thought, “I don’t know her, but I’m so proud of her.”
That girl saved something in me.
She reminded the little girl in me that it’s okay to be too much.
Too colorful. Too confident. Too you.
Since then, I started showing up again boldly, beautifully, and on my terms. This lookbook is my way of handing that feeling over to you.
You deserve to take up space.
To wear what you love.
To look in the mirror and say, “This is me. And she is enough.”
I made this for every girl who’s ever been told she was doing too much.
For every woman who stopped dressing for herself.
For the ones learning to love their bodies again.
Let this be your reminder: You are not alone. And you were never too much.
With so much love,
Kayla
